Rec Team members will learn the styles and techniques to develop their Ninja Skills with over 40 different obstacles! Minnetonka Elementary Run ClubRunning & FitnessImprove your overall fitness and learn the essentials of proper form, drills, hydration and nutrition, proper warm-up and cool-down, breathing, stretching and pacing. Participants should come ready for each session, which will involve continuous running for ½ to 1 ½ miles, depending on their grade level. Sessions are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for 50 minutes, with times varying based on the school the child attends. Participants will meet their coach in front of the school each morning. Students will be brought back into the school at the school's first bell. Participants are encouraged to bring warm and comfortable clothing, running shoes, a water bottle and a breakfast snack for afterward. Participants are provided with a Run Club t-shirt. Open to boys and girls in grades 2-5. We will end the program with a Track Meet on June 8th at 12:00 pm at the Minnetonka High School Track. This event is an opportunity to building confidence, creating positive memories, and fostering a love for running. Athletes will be able to participate in up to two events. Events include a 1-mile run, 800m run, 400m run, 4 x 100 relay, and a 100m dash. The event sign-up will be sent out via email closer to the track meet (once students have a better understanding of which events they may want to compete in). Following these races, we will have an adult 400m run, so bring your running shoes with and join in on the fun! Athletes will race against peers based on their grade level and awards will be given for the top three finishers. Races will be timed using hand timers and we will not utilize an automated timing system.Winter/Spring 2025

Ninja Summer CampRunning & FitnessClimb, crawl, jump and conquer the obstacle course like a true Ninja Warrior! Learn techniques in a safe and fun way by exploring a new obstacle course each week. All camps are coached by an experienced Ninja Trainer. Obstacles and stunts are designed specific to age groups. This summer give your child an American Ninja Warrior Experience! Young Ninjas develop strength and agility during this camp by learning different styles and techniques to master all obstacles! We have warped walls, angled steps, salmon ladders, cliff hangers, tilted ladders; everything you need to put your ninja skills to work! Parent & Child Ninja ClassRunning & FitnessYou and your ninja will work together to learn how to tackle ninja obstacles, problem-solve courses and build self-esteem! We have warped walls, angled steps, salmon ladders, cliffhangers, tilted ladders; all Ninja-inspired obstacles! Family Ninja Classes are for anyone 5 or older. This parent child class is designed for both parents and kids to get moving and have fun together. You and your ninja will work together to learn how to tackle ninja obstacles, problem-solve courses, and build self-esteem! If you are looking for something different to do with your child and want to try a unique way to be active come check this class out! All fitness levels welcome! Malcolm Slaney (flickr) (CC BY 2.0)Tonka Track & Field League (TTFL)Running & FitnessSpring 2024 brings the inaugural Tonka Track & Field League (TTFL) for our grade-school boys and girls! This will be a six week program with two sessions per week under the guidance of the Minnetonka Skippers varsity track athletes and coaches. Participants will receive age appropriate instruction through experience in various running, field events, and relays in a fun atmosphere. The first two weeks of the season are comprised of two practices before the schedule transitions to a single practice each week and a Sunday meet over the final four weeks. Practice sessions are designed to give participants exposure to the events they will compete in during each meet. Each meet will have three age divisions, K-1st, 2nd-3rd, and 4th-5th. Participants in the K-1st division can participate in up to 3 events each meet, while all other ages can compete in up to 4 events. K-1st Grade Event List: 50M dash, 100M dash, 200M dash, 4x100 relay, Standing Long Jump, and Running Long Jump 2nd-3rd Grade Event List: 100M dash, 200M dash, 400m run, 50M hurdles, 4x100 relay, Running Long Jump, and Shot Put 4th-5th Grade Event List: 100M dash, 200m dash, 400m run, 800m run, 4x100 relay, 4x200 relay, Running Long Jump, Shot Put, and High JumpWinter/Spring 2025

Improve your skills in various events, culminating in a track meet on the last day! Join Varsity Track Coach, Jane Reimer-Morgan, who has now won 10 state championships (last year being one of them), and was 2024 MN State Coach of the Year and a National Coach of the Year finalist. The clinic will also include many of her assistant coaches along with former Tonka All-American track stars now competing at the college level. Please bring a water bottle, a snack, a *bike helmet and wear running attire. All participants will receive a t-shirt. *The bike helmet will be used for safety when trying out pole vaulting. Students will develop new skills and improve their technique in: running form and starts, hurdles, relays, long jump, triple jump & high jump, shot put & discus, pole vault and more.Summer 2025
