Minnetonka Youth Theatre: Acting IPerforming ArtsJoin us for a fun-filled theater camp focused on the craft of acting. Have a blast developing characters, playing improv games, creating and performing short monologues, scenes and plays. This course is designed for the performer who loves theater and is looking for more opportunities to hone their acting skills. Stevie Ray ImprovPerforming ArtsLearn to think on your feet, gain self-confidence and have fun performing with your friends. No experience is necessary. Stevie Ray’s Improv Company is one of Minnesota’s longest-running improv theaters. The class concludes with a special recital where you'll perform for family and friends at Stevie Ray’s Comedy Cabaret, located at the renowned Chanhassen Dinner Theatre! Students will end the program with a recital at Chanhassen Dinner Theatre for friends and family. Audience members will be charged $5 to attend the recital. This goes towards the Stevie Ray Improv Company staff for hosting the show and Chanhassen Dinner Theatre. Stevie Ray Improv Summer CampPerforming ArtsLearn to think on your feet, gain self-confidence, and have a ton of fun performing with your friends. No experience necessary. The class is taught by instructors from Stevie Ray’s Improv Company, one of the longest-running improv theaters in Minnesota. The class culminates with you performing a recital for family and friends at Stevie Ray’s Comedy Cabaret, located at the famous Chanhassen Dinner Theaters! Students will finish off their week by doing a recital at Chanhassen Dinner Theater for their friends and family. The recital will be from 3:30 pm-4:30 pm on August 22nd. Audience members will be charged $5 to attend the recital. This goes towards the Stevie Ray Improv Company staff for hosting the show and Chanhassen Dinner Theatre. Storybook TheatrePerforming ArtsProfessional actors and directors will work with up to 60 young actors in each production. The troupe will rehearse for one week and perform the play on Friday and Saturday. Participants experience the excitement of producing an original musical production based on a classic tale. Set, costumes, props and makeup are provided. Schedule: Auditions will be held on Monday. Rehearsals will be held throughout the remainder of the week (Tuesday-Thursday). Rehearsal schedules will be handed out after the auditions and will generally run between 8:00 am-12:15 pm. On Friday, rehearsal will begin at 2:30 pm in lieu of the regular morning session. Performances are Friday at 6 pm and Saturday at 10am. Please send a snack with your child daily and a bag dinner on Friday. Tickets: Two complimentary tickets will be given out to each participant. Additional tickets may be purchased before the show on Friday and Saturday. Attendance: Rehearsal time is limited, so it is crucial for students to be there for their practice times. In addition, it is expected that all members will perform on both Friday and Saturday. Due to cast size, not all actors will receive speaking lines, but all will be involved in musical numbers throughout the show.Summer 2025
