Players will learn beginning dribbling, passing, shooting and defensive skills in a fun, introductory program with Minnetonka Rec Basketball. Practice and game times are 1-hour in length, with varying start times between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at Groveland Elementary School. If your child's age group is in "waitlist" status when you register, it means that teams are full or the registration deadline has passed. Please complete the registration to be placed on the waitlist (your credit card will not be charged unless you are placed on a team). You will be contacted by Community Education if we are able to get your child on a team because another player has canceled or another team has been formed. There is a maximum of ten players per team. If you register after December 2 and your child is placed on a team, a $30 late fee will be assessed, and player requests will not be available. Fee: $89 if registered on or before December 3. $119 if registered after December 2. Team Formation: Co-ed teams will be formed per grade level based on school attendance area, availability of volunteer coaches and teammate/sibling requests. Players may request to be placed on the same team as one other player when registering. Teammate/sibling requests will be taken into consideration providing the player you request also requests you. Only one request per player is allowed. Please note that although we do try to accommodate these requests, they are not guaranteed. Coaches Needed!: Have fun coaching your son or daughter and teammates! We'll provide curriculum, support and training. A mandatory coach meeting will be held January 2 at Minnetonka Community Education Center from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Coaches should be able to attend Saturday practices/games and the mandatory coach training. Please note your interest in coaching during the registration process. Uniform: Players will receive a team t-shirt & junior size basketball. Players should wear athletic clothing and non-marking tennis shoes. Hoop Height: 8 Feet Refunds: Refunds, minus a $10 cancellation fee, will be given for cancellations received on or before December 2.
