Minnetonka Community Education

Spring 2024 brings the inaugural Tonka Track & Field League (TTFL) for our grade-school boys and girls! This will be a six week program with two sessions per week under the guidance of the Minnetonka Skippers boys varsity track players and coaches. Participants will receive age appropriate instruction through experience in various running, field events, and relays in a fun atmosphere.

The first two weeks of the season are comprised of two practices before the schedule transitions to a single practice each week and a Sunday meet over the final four weeks. Practice sessions are designed to give participants exposure to the events they will compete in during each meet.

Each meet will have three age divisions, K-1st, 2nd-3rd, and 4th-5th. Participants in the K-1st division can participate in up to 3 events each meet, while all other ages can compete in up to 4 events. 

K-1st Grade Event List: 50M dash, 100M dash, 200M dash, 4x100 relay, Standing Long Jump, and Running Long Jump 

2nd-3rd Grade Event List: 100M dash, 200M dash, 400m run, 50M hurdles, 4x100 relay, Running Long Jump, and Shot Put 

4th-5th Grade Event List: 100M dash, 200m dash, 400m run, 800m run, 4x100 relay, 4x200 relay, Running Long Jump, Shot Put, and High Jump
