Beginner Archery (Level 2)

Youth Recreation / Archery -
Winter/Spring 2025

Archery improves concentration, physical fitness, and is a lot of fun! Learn technique, rules, scoring, history, etiquette and equipment care. For beginners only. Coached by NASP-certified instructors. All equipment provided.

Prerequisite: Completion of Intro to Archery (Level 1), prior participation in a Beginner Archery class through MCE, participation in a qualified program including NASP or JOAD, or completion of an Archery Merit Badge through a Scouting organization. Those who have not completed a prerequisite may not participate. Contact Alex.Fairfield-Johnson@minnetonkaschools.org with any questions.

Beginner Archery will introduce specialized learning for each archer and they will learn to hit their target. This class will utilize safety procedures and fundamental processes from the Intro to Archery class and build upon them to develop the individual archer's consistency at distances of 7 to 10 meters though structured practice and games in preparation for participation in the Intermediate Archery Class.

This course uses a curriculum from the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) in collaboration with the Minnesota DNR. Participants will learn the fundamentals of archery in a safe, disciplined training program with an emphasis on safety.
