Improve your overall fitness and learn the essentials of proper form, drills, hydration and nutrition, proper warm-up and cool down, breathing, stretching and pacing. Kids should be prepared each meeting to run continuously for at least ½ to 1 ½ miles depending on their grade. Participants will meet their coach in the front of the school each morning. Sessions are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for 50 minutes. Times will vary according to which school the child attends. Students will be brought back into the school at the school's first bell. Participants are encouraged to bring warm and comfortable clothing, running shoes, a water bottle and a breakfast snack for afterward. Participants are provided with a Run Club t-shirt. Open to boys and girls in grades 2-5. We will end the program with a Track Meet on June 4th at 12:00 pm at the Minnetonka High School Track and Field. Parents will be able to sign their athlete up for two events. The sign-up will be sent out closer to the track meet (once students have a better understanding of which events they may want to compete in). Events include a 1-mile run, 800m run, 400m run and a 100m Dash. Following the kid’s races we will be having a parent/adult 400m run, so come ready to run!
