  • STEAM: Exploring Science Through Art Classes

    3-5 years non-separating STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. Enjoy one, two or all three of these fun and interactive classes with your child! Nature Art- The natural world is an amazing canvas! Leaves, pine cones, flowers, bugs, textures, and landscapes that are beautiful and versatile. Come explore our natural world through art and take home original creations that bring the outside in. Art in Motion-Bubbles, mobiles, and even how you move your body is Art in Motion! Come get creative with tools and materials to explore how amazing art can be! The Science of Art- Symmetry, patterns, colors, transparency- the intersection of science and art is complex and intriguing! Come experiment with science and create art that reflects the world around us. Sibling care is not available. To meet COVID-19 expectations, registration and attendance is restricted to one adult per child.
  • STEM:Science Discovery

    3-5 years | non-separating Explore fun science topics with your child during these afternoon or evening parent + child classes! All classes align with elementary life science, earth science, physical science and/or nature of science and engineering standards. The fee is $22 per class, per child−or register for all six classes at once for $117 per child. All afternoon classes are held from 1:15-2:30 p.m. and all evening classes are held from 6:15-7:30 p.m. Sibling care is not available. Sibling care is not available. What's The Matter Come and learn about different kinds of matter: solids, liquids, and gases. How do they change? We will have many sensory experiences and make some goo. Sink or Float Why do some things float? Why do some things sink? We will perform a lot of exciting experiments and create a sink and float kit to test out hypotheses. Incredible Eggs Do eggs float? What is in an egg? What can you do with recycled egg shells? We will investigate these questions and build a wall for Humpty Dumpty! Healthy Bodies Our bodies have wonderful capabilities. We will have fun activities to show how exercise and healthy food is important to our bodies. Explore how we use our eyes, ears, nose and mouth to learn about the world around us. Growing Things Spring is almost here! What can we grow? Learn about plants and how they grow. We will plant a mystery garden and grow some things are not alive! Creepy Crawlers The ground is starting to thaw. Let’s explore the world of insects and worms. Come prepared to take a nature walk.
