  • Advanced Cheer Skills Camp

    Elevate your cheer skills this summer! This 4-day camp helps you sharpen technique, build confidence, and grow as a cheerleader, designed for athletes in grades 4–8. Throughout the week, you’ll receive focused instruction in motions, jumps, flexibility, stunting progressions, dance routines, and performance skills. This camp is designed for cheerleaders with prior experience ready to take the next step in their journey. You’ll work with our Minnetonka coaches who emphasize proper form, safe stunt technique, teamwork, and leadership. Over four days of upbeat training, you’ll develop a polished routine to perform for families on the final day.

  • Cheer Routine Camp

    Explore the fundamentals of cheerleading and learn a cheer routine with your team! Coaches will emphasize safety, skill development and sportsmanship. A shirt and hair bow will be provided. Parents are welcome to attend the last practice to watch their performance! More details will follow.
  • Cheer Stunt Camp

    Explore the fundamentals of cheerleading and learn a cheer routine with your team! Coaches will emphasize safety, skill development and sportsmanship. Athletes are welcome to come and learn the foundation of stunting. Athletes will learn the importance of technique while growing their stunting ability. Campers will perform on July 9th & July 23rd @ 10:45 AM based upon their respective camp dates. Shirt and hair bow will be provided.
  • Cheerleading

    Learn the essential skills to lead the crowd and support the home team! Learn cheers, proper hand/body movements and jumping techniques. There is no stunting, just a big focus on fun while each cheerleader learns important life skills such as teamwork, leadership and more.   • Cheerleading Open Gym

    Join us for an upbeat and skill-building Open Gym for our cheerleaders! Athletes will have the opportunity to work on jumps, motions, stunts, tumbling, and basic cheer technique in a fun, supervised environment. Coaches will be on hand to provide spotting, guidance, station ideas, and individualized skill support. Whether participants are brand new to cheer or already involved in a school or community program, this open gym offers a welcoming space to build confidence, improve fundamentals, and stay active with friends. Cost is $10 per child. You may pay ahead of time online with a 2-session punch card, or pay at the door with cash.   • Elementary Cheer Tryouts

    Discover the excitement of cheerleading in a fun, team-oriented and competitive setting. Coaches will focus on safety, teamwork, sportsmanship and making positive choices to help athletes improve their skills and prepare for advanced cheer teams in the future. The Elementary Cheer team is designed for grades 2-5 and is focused on fostering development in the sport of cheerleading. Previous cheer/gymnastics/dance experience helps but is not mandatory. The season runs from September - February. Practices are on Monday nights at Minnetonka Middle School East. Participants are expected to fully commit to the team and be present before signing up and becoming a member. The team will perform at school sporting events, community events, and local/state cheer competitions. *Please Note The Universal Cheer Association (UCA) states that participants must attend school within the Minnetonka district to be eligible for this Minnetonka program. To accommodate summer schedules, we are offering 2 sessions of the learning clinics. Both sessions will be the same. During the 2 days of camp, cheerleaders will learn the foundational skills of cheerleading; which consists of tumbling, stunting, jumps, and motions. Your cheerleaders will learn everything they need to know for tryouts. Cheerleaders may attend both sessions, but only 1 is required for tryouts. Tryout Day: Tryout day will be August 13th at MME Small Gym. Each athlete will attend a 30-minute time spot based on the grade they are going into. Athletes will wear white shoes, all black athletic outfit, a bow with low curled ponytail, and red lipstick. The 30 minute tryout will include: Effort & Coachability, Jump lines (double toe touch & pike) Tumbling skill of choice, and Tryout cheer. We judge stunting ability during learning clinics. Tryout Tips: We are looking for strong effort, energy, coachability, the ability to lead a crowd, and a positive attitude. Cheerleaders must be passionate about cheerleading both inside and outside of practice. Cheerleaders are not expected to have material 100% memorized but should be able to demonstrate the majority of it, and know what is being asked. All required material will be taught at the learning camps. Please note divisions are very competitive, and team placements will be as well. Team placements will be emailed by the team coaches.
  • Introduction to Cheer

    Learn beginner cheers, jumps, motions and body control while building teamwork, sportsmanship and positivity. Perform alongside NFL Flag Football scrimmages for an extra boost of excitement. This camp runs alongside NFL Flag Football. Each participant receives poms to keep. Athletes should wear athletic clothing and shoes, sunscreen and bring a water bottle and a snack.
  • Lil' Skippers Cheer Camp

    Get ready to jump, shout and cheer your heart out! This is the perfect introduction to cheerleading for young athletes in grades K–3. Over three high-energy days, campers will learn the fundamentals of cheer in a fun, encouraging, and age-appropriate environment. Led by our experienced Minnetonka cheer coaches, participants will explore motions, jumps, chants, basic stunts (non-lifting), and teamwork skills designed especially for early elementary youth. Each day includes upbeat warm-ups, skill-building stations, creative games, and opportunities to perform short routines with their new cheer friends. Campers will grow in confidence, coordination, and school spirit—while having an absolute blast! No experience needed; all abilities welcome.
  • Middle School Cheer Tryouts

    Athletes will experience the sport of cheer in a fun, team-focused and competitive environment. Coaches will emphasize safety, teamwork, good sportsmanship and making good choices to become a better athlete and prepare athletes for future, higher level, cheer teams. The Middle School Cheer team is designed for participants going into grades 5-8 for the 26/27 school year and is focused on fostering development in the sport of cheerleading. Previous cheer/gymnastics/dance experience is helpful for participating on this team, but not mandatory. The season runs from June - February. Practices will be on Wednesday nights in the summer and Tuesday & Thursday evenings during the school year. All practices will be held in the small gym at Minnetonka Middle School East. Participants are expected to fully commit to the team and be present prior to signing up and becoming a member.   • Mini Gophers Cheer Clinic

    Bring the energy! The University of Minnesota Cheerleaders are coming to Minnetonka High School to lead a high-spirited, game-day style cheer clinic designed just for elementary and middle school athletes. This fun and interactive two-hour session focuses on sharp motions, chants, sideline routines, game-day traditions, and building confidence—all taught by Division I athletes who know how to get a crowd on its feet. Participants will learn essential cheer fundamentals, practice real game-day material used by the Gophers, and enjoy upbeat team-building activities. The clinic is perfect for beginners and experienced cheerleaders alike who want to strengthen their skills and experience what it’s like to cheer on a Big Ten team. At the end of the clinic, families are invited to watch a short sideline-style showcase featuring what the students learned.   • Minnetonka Cheer Summer Clinic

    Join the Minnetonka cheerleaders and coaches to learn motions, jumps, stunts, and Minnetonka cheers while building confidence through practice and a fun performance. Designed for future cheerleaders in grades K-5 and 6-8, the clinic will be divided into elementary and middle school groups. Participants will perform their routines for parents during the last half hour of the camp. Please bring a water bottle, a snack, and wear athletic shoes with comfortable clothing.
