Improve your overall fitness and learn the essentials of proper form, drills, hydration and nutrition, proper warm-up and cool-down, breathing, stretching and pacing.

Participants should come ready for each session, which will involve continuous running for ½ to 1 ½ miles, depending on their grade level. Sessions are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for 50 minutes, with times varying based on the school the child attends. Participants will meet their coach in front of the school each morning. Students will be brought back into the school at the school's first bell.

Participants are encouraged to bring warm and comfortable clothing, running shoes, a water bottle and a breakfast snack for afterward. Participants are provided with a Run Club t-shirt. Open to boys and girls in grades 2-5.

We will end the program with a Track Meet on June 8th at 12:00 pm at the Minnetonka High School Track. This event is an opportunity to building confidence, creating positive memories, and fostering a love for running. Athletes will be able to participate in up to two events. Events include a 1-mile run, 800m run, 400m run, 4 x 100 relay, and a 100m dash. The event sign-up will be sent out via email closer to the track meet (once students have a better understanding of which events they may want to compete in). Following these races, we will have an adult 400m run, so bring your running shoes with and join in on the fun! Athletes will race against peers based on their grade level and awards will be given for the top three finishers. Races will be timed using hand timers and we will not utilize an automated timing system.
