Adult Enrichment / Lifelong Learning -
Winter/Spring 2024

What is the "Science of Reading?" Phonemic Awareness? What does this all mean and why does it matter? Join us for Secrets of a Reading Teacher to demystify the ins and outs of learning to read.

Holly Pfeiffer will give you the inside scoop on how the brain learns to read, the most recent developments in reading instruction, what's important (and what's not important) when learning to read, and easy-to-do activities to do at home. Her down-to-earth, straightforward approach will give you the tools you need to navigate your child's education and reading journey.

This 75-minute workshop is designed for parents, families, and caregivers of children ages birth-grade 4. Holly Pfeiffer is an educator, personal reading coach, literacy specialist, parent advocate, and mom of two growing boys. Currently, she is the owner of Real Literacy Consulting and a literacy specialist with the Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement (CAREI) at the University of MN.
