From myth to empire and ruins to revival, this course explores the enduring legacy of Ancient Rome through the broader lens of Italy’s historical development.
On Day 1, we’ll journey through a thousand years of Roman history—from the rise of the Roman Republic to the height and fall of the Roman Empire. Then, on Day 2, we fast-forward to the Renaissance, exploring how three centuries of cultural rebirth and political transformation laid the groundwork for the eventual formation of a unified Italy.
Pamela has taught History in the Eden Prairie School District since 1985. Her subjects have been primarily World History and American History. She has traveled to over 30 countries with students and adult groups. Her passion is bringing the world to her students and her students to the world! Her goal in teaching this class is two-fold; 1) Reignite a passion for learning history, 2) Encourage students to travel! She will be leading an adult group to Italy in the Fall of 2026 and will have information if anyone is interested in joining!
