Rome Wasn't Built in a Day: Ancient Rome through the Development of Italy

Adult Enrichment / Lifelong Learning -
Fall 2025

From myth to empire and ruins to revival, this course explores the enduring legacy of Ancient Rome through the broader lens of Italy’s historical development.

On Day 1, we’ll journey through a thousand years of Roman history—from the rise of the Roman Republic to the height and fall of the Roman Empire. Then, on Day 2, we fast-forward to the Renaissance, exploring how three centuries of cultural rebirth and political transformation laid the groundwork for the eventual formation of a unified Italy.
