Minnetonka High School Fencing

Youth Recreation / Fencing - High School -
Fall 2025

Learn new skills, basic techniques and train to compete! Explore all three Fencing Weapons: Epee, Sabre & Foil. Emphasizing blade work, footwork and balance. Open to all levels of experience!

All materials are provided for this program. The last hour of practice will focus greater on the middle schoolers since they will be coming later into practice.

*Optional competitions may be available at an additional cost to the participant. Competitions are $30 each and students must compete in 2 competitions to qualify for the State Tournament. Sixth Graders cannot compete in the competitions.

Coached by Maria Benford and Minnetonka Sword Play: Trained in Cuba for the Olympic team. Current head coach of Southwest Christian High School, a former head coach at St. Catherine College and St. Mary's High School.
