Take your traditional Minnetonka Preschool class outdoors! This course will spend at least half of the class time outside daily (weather permitting) in our Outdoor Learning Center (OLC) and exploring the wooded area behind MCEC. Outdoor play and learning allows your child the opportunity to develop their brain, body and social-emotional intelligence through discovery, while also developing respect and appreciation for our natural world. The class will focus on nature related thematic units including insects, trees, seasons, animals and more. Minnetonka Preschool fees are billed on the first of every month from October 1, 2023 to May 1, 2024. The first month’s tuition and annual registration fee, both of which are non-refundable, are due at the time of registration. This Spanish Immersion Preschool course will provide English-speaking pre-kindergarten children with the opportunity to learn in a second language. As with our English preschool classes, this immersion class utilizes Creative Curriculum and focuses on preparing children for kindergarten. This class is perfect for families interested in pursuing Minnetonka Schools' Kindergarten Spanish Immersion program. All classes are taught in Spanish. Minnetonka Preschool fees are billed on the first of every month from October 1, 2023 to May 1, 2024. The first month’s tuition and annual registration fee, both of which are non-refundable, are due at the time of registration. Discover ways to explore their world with them and gather for discussion with other parents experiencing life with a toddler who is talking, becoming independent and challenging rules with a new found confidence.

Children ages 1- 4 | separating Join other families with young children for fun, hands-on activities followed by discussion with a licensed parent educator. Conversation topics may range from behavior strategies to sleeping routines to sibling relationships. This class can be a great fit for families with multiple children between the ages of 1-4. Please register each child separately.

Early childhood screening appointments will be released monthly during the school year (September-May). If you would like an email reminder to be notified when new dates become available, please email the screening office at kate.vanhorne@minnetonkaschools.org. Note: Although Early Childhood Screening is required within 30 days of entrance into kindergarten/Kindergarten Ready Start in Minnesota’s public schools, screening is not a kindergarten entrance test. Early Childhood Screening is required by the State of Minnesota for all preschool-aged children (ages three to five), before entering public school. It is a free and simple check on how your child is growing and developing, and is structured to include fun games that will assess multiple areas of your child’s health and development, including: Vision, hearing and physical growth Health and immunization history Social and emotional development Fine and gross motor ability Cognitive development Speech, language and articulation Screening supports your child’s readiness for kindergarten and promotes positive developmental outcomes. Screening may also lead to referrals for early learning opportunities. For more information, view the Minnesota Statute here.
