Calling new and returning students! New, hands-on lessons from various engineering disciplines. Focusing on developing 21st Century skills such as problem solving, critical thinking and peer collaboration.

These life skills provide students with the confidence to approach challenges in their lives and realize that they can succeed in almost anything! Engineering for Kids has a library of 300+ individual lessons which continues to grow so we never have to repeat lessons.

Fall 1 Lessons (classes beginning in September):

Order may vary.

Mechanical Engineering Save Humpty Dumpty Students explore mechanical engineering to design a contraption to break Humpty Dumpty's fall.
Aerospace Engineering Stomp Rocket Students will understand the design of a rocket, and build their own.
Industrial Engineering Fossils Students learn about fossils, make their own cast and learn how casts and molds are useful engineering tools.
Acoustic Engineering Magic Flute Students will explore sound and make music with their own pan flute.
Optical Engineering Spectroscope Students will make their own spectroscope- an instrument used to split light into different wavelengths, which we see as different colors of the rainbow.
Mechanical Engineering Buzzers Students will learn about some properties of vibration, and make a Buzzer that they can manipulate to change the pitch of the vibrating noise.

Fall 2 Lessons (classes beginning in November):

Order may vary.

Electrical Engineering Magnet Maze

Students learn about magnets and their use in different navigation instruments, such as compasses, and make their own magnet maze.

Industrial Engineering Archimedes Screw Students explore simple machines and make their own Archimedes screw.
Acoustic Engineering Squawker Students explore sound and learn how a sounding board works by making their own squawker.
Mechanical Engineering Kinetic Motion

Students explore potential energy in motion and are challenged to make their own perpetual motion toy.

Aerospace Engineering Up, Up & Away Students explore airplanes and Understand how it must be balanced to fly smoothly and transport passengers and cargo safely.
Chemical Engineering Space Rocks Students learn about space rocks and make their own version of space dough to take home.
