Serena King Ph.D., L.P.

Serena King, Ph.D., L.P. is currently associate professor of psychology at Hamline University. She is a clinical psychologist with a Ph.D. (2005) from the University of Minnesota with interests in cognitive behavioral approaches to psychological health and well being, mindfulness, acceptance, and self-compassion. Serena has done individual and group psychotherapy in a variety of clinical practices in the twin cities in hospital, clinics, and private practice settings. Serena has led mindfulness and self-compassion workshops in her role as a professor. Serena has taken day-long workshops with Dr. Jon Kabat Zinn and Dr. Kristin Neff (self-compassion) and has been a participant in an 8 week mindful self-compassion course. Serena has read and studied literature on mindfulness extensively in her work as a professor. She teaches courses in the areas of health psychology, abnormal and addictive disorders at Hamline University. She makes time for her own mindfulness and yoga practice and enjoys spending time with her family.
